Mary Werner is the founder of Werner Coaching & Consulting, a practice she founded to build on her more than 25 years of business and financial consulting experience. After a satisfying and diverse career as a practicing CPA and firm leader, Mary now focuses her work on coaching and consulting with individuals, teams and organizations who are interested in sustaining – as well as accelerating – their professional and personal growth. She combines her passion, experience and skill to develop effective, committed and energized leaders.
As a coach, her expertise includes change leadership, multi-rater (360°) feedback, leadership/management development, interpersonal skill development and emotional intelligence. As an organization development consultant, she works closely with leadership to understand business needs and improve business performance through and for people. She focuses on teams and organizations that want to achieve outstanding results.
Her business background includes “Big Eight” public accounting experience as well as over 10 years as a Partner of a rapidly growing regional CPA firm. Her industry work includes positions as a financial analyst and controller for a hospital and closely held manufacturing company, respectively. Prior to founding Werner Coaching & Consulting, she focused her financial consulting firm in the valuation of closely held businesses and professional practices.
Mary has a Master’s Degree in Organization Development from Bowling Green State University and is a certified coach through the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara. She is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and a co-founding member of the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the ICF. She is based in Toledo, Ohio, offering both on-site and long-distance coaching sessions. She also is available as a speaker and facilitator for seminars, workshops and conferences.
With a personal style that enables her to quickly build trust and respect, she uses compassion, optimism and a personal commitment to help her clients gain valuable perspective. She has an outstanding ability to see what others cannot. These qualities, coupled with her broad base of successful business experience, have made Mary a highly sought and well-respected coach and consultant.
In addition to coaching and consulting, Mary has committed her time to public service, serving on numerous community and professional boards.
Mary and her husband, Marty, have been married for nearly 30 years, and live in Sylvania, Ohio. They have three daughters.
